The dates for the 2009 ACT Championships have been set down for March 6th, 7th and 8th and it will be held at the Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club Sulwood Drive Kambah ACT.

I will post up details on local Motels etc... over the next few days, or you can camp at the track.

Practice and warm ups are subject to weather conditions.  Please remember correct race attire, bikes fit for racing and number plates must be worn during official practice sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, random scrutineering will be conducted to ensure compliance.. 

Track is closed at all other times.

PLEAS NOTE: That if you do not want to stay around for the presentation and you have obtained an ACT State Plate, you will need to organise someone else to collect it for you as we will NOT be giving out plates and trophies prior to the presentation.  If you have no one to collect it on your behalf it will be posted to you.

How was the sneak practice guys? 

We weren't there, nobody saw us there, you can't prove anything!!!  >:D

OK so there was one guy and his missus who saw us there. It was good until my seat bolt snapped. Simon must of sat on my seat the last time he was around my bike. Riding without a seat feels weird and not balanced. The track is good except for the second turn. There is only really one line for it.

Yeah the 2nd turn will be interesting, it will depend on where you are at the time to weather you go low and cut it or go high.

Some of the local kids have got it worked out but still something that need to get sorted this year.

Hey Wally,  the track is so cool and can,t wait for the race. We spent five hours in the car for a forty five minute ride,had to pick the kids up at school but was still excellent.

Thanks Wardy, a lot of work went into it over the xmas break, 100's of hours to get it to where it is now. It is looking awesome and we will all be down there again over the next 2 days doing more. We know the 2nd corner is an issue and it always has been, we are still playing with it and taking on idea's as we want to get it right. We know this will not happen by the ACT's but we want to get it right sooner then later, I believe we now have an awesome track that is Aussie titles standard.

It has been awesome to see and here of a large number of riders from Sydney etc... coming down to have a train on it, a number of AA Pros have been down as well hitting it up and loving it  ;D

See ya all next weekend guys.......and I have remembered to save you guys a spot just above the pro straight next to us and the Griffo's in the Felt tent. We will be looking over the 1st set of doubles on the pro straight, just need to confirm how big of a spot you need. Phil has probably told me already  :D  do we mark the site as "LMX Bicycle super Cross" or just " the old fat bastards and Luke"  ;D

oh yeah...... you can place a tent/s on the viewing plat form as well as one behind the coppers logs (what ever they are called) for the bikes as the road behind will be closed for riders to warm up on once the event starts. the other side of the road is for parking so if you in early you can park behind the tents.  O0

Been doing track work today guys......the track is so smooth now  O0

More work tomorrow and through the week so track is now officially closed from today until Friday. The only times the track will be open will be for Gates on Monday from 6pm and Gates on Thursday from 6pm and then again on Friday from 10am to approx 7pm. Saturday and Sunday as per the official practice times as posted on the ACTBMXA and Tuggeranong BMX Club web sites.

The track is CLOSED all other times from now, if you want to come for a ride outside of these times you need to contact the club (you may need to trade track time for work time around the grounds) otherwise you will be chased away by some old fat bloke with a big stick  ;)

Just hope the rain gods are kind to us now  ::)

Sorry Wally, but it is one less  :'( Had some tests done today and I have to take it very easy for the next two weeks. I have a viral infection that has given me an erratic heart beat (which I have had before) and this is slowing my heart down. Basically when I exert myself there is not enough oxygen getting around to the muscles and the brain, I get dizzy and light headed and I could crash because of it. I will be on rest and antibioitics and will have another test in two weeks. So need to cancel my accommodation etc. I am bummed  :-[ :-[ :-[ >:( >:( >:( :'( :'( :'(

Come down anyway and watch and help me keep the team feed on the BBQ  O0

If I am feeling better I might come down on the Sunday but I now it will tick me off!!

Thanks mate, wish we could have had a chat. The track was awesome thanks to all that worked on it over the last few months, weeks and days. The club grounds were also looking awesome after many man hours again from the same people giving up many hours to paint, mow and fix things up for this event.

The whole place looked awesome and the event ran smooth with no major issues O0

You always get a whinger or two at an event an we had some but then the whingers are always the ones that never lend a hand.

As was said by everyone that came up to the committee members on the weekend "well done, this track is world class".

We  went into the weekend knowing the 2nd turn would be a challenge and we were thinking of a lot more carnage here then there was. All of the major offs were at other sections of the track. Also a big thank you to the people that offered some idea's on the 2nd turn instead of having just a whinge as a plain whinge falls on deaf ears but a whinge with a good suggestion is taken on board. But then we had a lot more positives (and I mean a LOT more positives) on the whole track including the 2nd turn then negitives.

What can I say, one of the smallest clubs have produced a world class track that is ready for an Australian Title.

The second carner seemed to hold up ok mate, especially with a good sweep to give extra grip. From watching, it looked a bit crazy in there in the races. Thought the pro section worked really well and some exciting stuff going on through there.
I reckon the second last straight would make an excellent last straight with guys and girls working their backsides off through the rhythm to the finish.  O0

I didn't want to go home.
The track was great. I  seriously thought turn 2 was going to be suspect but that was not the case.
The starting hill and first straight reminds me of rollercoaster.

I'll be coming back again.
